Unicaja’s new signings, Melwin Pantzar and Amine Noua, have been called up by their respective national teams to play in the qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup in Qatar, which are due to take place at the end of August. The point guard will lead the Swedish side, whilst the French power forward will be sharing the dressing room with stars such as Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert.
The revamped Unicaja Mijas has now finalised its pre-season schedule for the 2026/27 season. The team, managed by Javi Pérez de los Reyes, will kick off their pre-season on Sunday 13 September in Melilla, where they will compete in the 3rd Javier Imbroda Memorial against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte La Salle. This will be followed by the 2026 Azulmarino New Travel Women’s Andalusia Cup, and to round off their pre-season preparations, the Málaga-based side will face the Melilla team once again on Saturday 26 September at the Martín Urbano Sports Hall in Los Guindos.
